Course Description:
This introductory course offers a deep yet accessible journey into Tarka Saṅgraha, the foundational text of Indian logic and epistemology, blending Sanskrit study with English exposition. The course situates Tarka Saṅgraha within the broader framework of the Shad-Darśana—the six systems of Indian philosophy—with a focused lens on Nyāya and Vaiśeṣika, the schools of logic and atomism.
Participants will engage with the concept of pramāṇa—the valid means of knowledge—such as pratyakṣa (perception), anumāna (inference), and śabda (verbal testimony), learning not just their definitions but how they function in reasoning and daily understanding. Through selected verses and structured discussion, the course reveals how Tarka is not merely an intellectual discipline, but a powerful tool for clarity of thought and communication.
Anchored in the Bhāratīya dṛṣṭi (Indic worldview), the course draws connections to real-life, contemporary, and Ayurvedic contexts, showing how this ancient system remains relevant in diagnosing both physical and intellectual imbalances. Whether you are a student of Indian Knowledge Systems, Ayurveda, philosophy, or simply curious about the depth of Indic thought, this course is your gateway into precise reasoning, structured inquiry, and harmonious thinking.
